In apparatus and mechanical engineering, decorative properties are frequently desired in combination with high corrosion resistance. In addition, high standards regarding surface ductility and surface abrasion resistance are quite common in these fields.

In these cases, too, galvano-aluminum offers an innovative solution. Today, aluminium plated surfaces are already being used for fastening elements in heat exchangers. In the presence of extreme temperatures like the ones prevailing in this case, self-corrosion must be eliminated. It must be possible later to unscrew the bolts for maintenance. Under these conditions, aluminum is far superior to cadmium and zinc while offering additional environmental benefits.
